Believe it or not the Hall of Fame game is only a couple weeks away on Sunday August 9th, which kicks off the NFL pre-season and season for that matter. The Class of 2009 includes Bob Hayes, Randall McDaniel, Bruce Smith, Derrick Thomas, Ralph Wilson, Jr., and Rod Woodson.

So we’ve finally come to the point in the season when things really begin to count: the playoffs. And to kick off our coverage, we’ll start with a game that has two unexpected visitors who decided to crash the party in the 9-7 Arizona Cardinals and 11-5 Atlanta Falcons.
The Cardinals come in as the NFC West Champs after winning their first division title since 1975 while the Falcons, the No. 5 seed, reversed fortunes quickly and went from a four-win team in ‘07 to an 11-win team in ‘08. Continue reading →

STORYLINE: Are they with the right teams?
It sure seems that PIERRE THOMAS of New Orleans and MATT FORTÉ of Chicago — who can play a main role on the ground this cold December night right by Lake Michigan — should be playing for the other team. Thomas – with the French first name — was born in Chicago, went to Illinois, was not drafted but signed as a rookie free agent with the Saints last year.
